Welcome to Summit Psychology

Availability

Hi, I’m Andrew Burzynski, the founder and principal psychologist at Summit Psychology. I’m a registered psychologist with a calm and thoughtful approach, and I care deeply about creating an environment where you feel seen, respected and understood. Therapy does not need to feel clinical. I value genuine connection, curiosity and the occasional laugh to keep the process human and grounded.

My approach is trauma-informed and compassionate. I primarily use Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), alongside cognitive behavioural strategies and practical tools, tailored to your individual needs. Together, we will create a plan that feels both meaningful and manageable.

I welcome and affirm people of all backgrounds, identities and lived experiences. You will never be expected to explain who you are. I regularly check in to make sure therapy feels right for you, and your feedback is always valued. If something is not working, we will adjust it together.

What to Expect

Starting therapy is a big step, and it is completely normal to feel unsure. In our first session, I will take time to understand what brings you in, your current challenges, and what you are hoping to get out of therapy. You are welcome to ask questions and get a feel for whether we are a good fit. There is no pressure to share anything too personal straight away – we will go at your pace.

Confidentiality is a key part of our work together. What you share remains private, with a few exceptions related to safety, which I will explain clearly. My consulting room is a judgement-free space. You are welcome to laugh, cry, swear or sit in silence – however you need to show up is okay.

Along the way, we will set goals, reflect on your progress and make adjustments as needed. If something is not helpful or does not feel right, I encourage you to let me know. My aim is for you to leave each session feeling heard, supported, and a little more equipped to move forward.
