Welcome to Summit Psychology

Consulting Hours

Hi, I’m Andrew Burzynski, the founder and principal psychologist at Summit Psychology in Geelong. I’m a registered psychologist with a calm and thoughtful approach. I want therapy to feel safe and genuine, where you feel seen, respected and understood, which can include sharing a laugh or two along the way. I also collaborate closely with GPs and specialists, providing clear communication and timely reports to support coordinated care.

I provide evidence-based therapy for adults experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), trauma, neurodivergent challenges, and difficulties with relationships, self-esteem and life transitions.

As an EMDR Accredited Practitioner, I primarily use Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), along with a range of evidence-based modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and other trauma-informed and attachment-based approaches tailored to your individual needs. Together, we will create a plan that feels both meaningful and manageable.

I welcome and affirm people of all backgrounds, identities and lived experiences. You will always be respected for who you are. I regularly check in to ensure our work together is supporting your goals, and I adapt the approach as needed to keep it meaningful.

Now welcoming new referrals, with immediate availability for appointments.

What to Expect

Starting therapy is a big step, and it is completely normal to feel unsure. In our first session, I will take time to understand what brings you in, your current challenges, and what you are hoping to get out of therapy. You are welcome to ask questions and get a feel for whether we are a good fit. There is no pressure to share anything too personal straight away – we will go at your pace.

Confidentiality is a key part of our work together. What you share remains private, with a few exceptions related to safety, which I will explain clearly. My consulting room is a judgement-free space. You are welcome to laugh, cry, swear or sit in silence – however you need to show up is okay.

Along the way, we will set goals, reflect on your progress and make adjustments as needed. If something is not helpful or does not feel right, I encourage you to let me know. My aim is for you to leave each session feeling heard, supported, and a little more equipped to move forward.
